Paired aqara m2 to Homekit via Apple Home app(IOS users)
I have a few smart devices that can be added with homekit like apple TV and my homepod mini, they've just worked fine. but when I have to add another device like Aqara hub I'm having troubles. Both are completely new (just purchased to keep building my smart home).
Table of Contents
First, you will need to factory reset the device.
step 1.Add accessories to the Home app
Power on your accessory* and make sure that it's nearby.
Open the Home app on your iPhone or iPad and tap Add +.
Tap Add Accessory.
step 2.Add Accessory to Network
Follow the instructions to scan a code or hold your device near the accessory to add it.
When your accessory appears, tap it. If asked to Add Accessory to Network, tap Allow.
The first message is: "Connecting to accessory. This may take a few minutes".
step 3.accessory was already added
Follow the instructions to scan the product box or manually enter
the HomeKit code on the hub, and complete the setup.
Once it is added successfully, you can check the hub in the Apple Home app. Please keep the
HomeKit code in a safe place in case you need to add the hub again.
trouble shooting
For the Aqara Hub I changed the Wifi 2.4 name and password only with words and numbers (not "·$%&)=/" or whatever). Then it worked perfectly as the hub finally could connect to the wifi.
I've just also followed all this instructions: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204893
