I saw that Aqara M2 is going to have an OTA update with Matter support. Once this update arrives, it will work with HA with Matter integration correct.

aqara  确认，目前的在售网关固件升级后支持 matter ，但是子设备还是zigbee，整体作为一个设备支持 matter。

另外推出的部分新品会原生支持 matter，可以直接通过蓝牙配对，接入智能音箱，作为 thread 设备。

Aqara delays Matter transition until January 2023

I have Hub M2 EU in stock. Updated to the latest firmware (with Matter). Let’s go in order:

  1. Connected the Hub via Ethernet cable
  2. Turned off the power and waited for the Hub to switch to Offline mode
  3. Turned on, waited for the yellow singal to pass
  4. Pressed the button for 10 seconds to reset the network
  5. The hub has switched to the network search mode (yellow-green signal flashes)
  6. Switched to Home Assistant, then chose HomeKit Device Controller in integrations
  7. Gives an error “No devices available for pairing were found”

 

 

The M2 hub supports Matter, and can be integrated with Home Assistant via Matter! I will expose sensors to HA via Matter, and to Home via HomeKit integration.
