This is a Zigbee hub made for Aqara zigbee accessories. Setting up the hub was easy and straight forward. The integration with Apple HomeKit is very good and smooth.

- This hub, installed on the main floor of our 3-story home.
- 4x Window/Door sensors on all exterior doors.
- 2x Motion sensors, one in the garage and one in the basement.
- 1x Water Leak sensor, in the furnace room where there is a hot water tank and sump pump.
Something to think about is where you use the Aqara App or Apple Homekit. The good thing is that you can use both simultaneously.

This is the 3rd of these hubs they I have bought they are all finicky, They only like certain 2.4Ghz routers, they seem to pair fine with some and not at all with others(Currently Using TP-Link AP and they work)(Cisco, D-Link not working) after you struggle to get it paired with the Wi-Fi you then need to get it to work with its own sensors, So far I have bought three TVOC sensors which every single one has died after 6 months, I replaced them with the more basic Temp/Humid sensors and they seem to work ok, range is far shorter then advertised I under stand that metal walls and things can shorten the distance but is some cases they can't communicate 10 feet away. I now have a Hub that would not pair on a iPhone at all, so I changed to Android as recommended online and updated the firmware, now my iPhone sees it but I still cant get any sensors to pair with the hub all are Aqara sensors, I have tried both Android and iPhone Aqara app and other apps. Now I am left with having to order another one as a replacement but I don't know if it will get one that has a working firmware or not. And support is a Bot, no email no phone just a stupid bot.

the latest firmware version for the Chinese Aqara hub, set to the China Server (when using the Mi Home app) is 1.6.8. If you are using the Aqara app, the hub firmware may well appear as 1.6.9

Aqara hub M1S 2022 has different model acn004 (ap name) and on hub/box ZHWG20LM。
the new gateway doesn't have scene and local automation.Also changed a cheap chip.
I have the M1S CN version, no sign of 2022 on the gateway or on its box. Mi Home recognized it as original M1S, while Aqara Home identified it as M1S 2022 version. AqaraGateway worked properly, except the scale of the brightness, like having a scale from 0 to 255, but you can adjust it between 1 and 100 only (there is an open issue mentioning the same).
2021版功能比新款2022功能更完善。
2022款目前部分没有功能以下两点：
1，没有断电记忆功能
2，没有火星技术与方舟技术
尤其要做无主智能灯方案，还是要一定用回2021老款，不然无法使用方舟技术与火星技术。

This is the gen1 version m1s hub.
Aqara announced that both their long-awaited M1S and M2 Zigbee 3.0 hubs have finally gotten their official US release via Amazon.com.
This follows on from both of the aforementioned hubs becoming available in the EU at the end of last year.
The Aqara M1S will look very familiar, as it basically retains the same design as the original M1 Aqara hub.

Whilst the Shenzhen-based company have since released a tidal wave of devices – including even more hubs – these are only the second and third Aqara hubs to be released in North America unless you count the Aqara G2H camera, which also contains a Zigbee 3.0 hub.

Does it work with Xiaomi devices ?
I'm pretty sure they are not the same company.if you have all the Aqara sensors and hub and can use the Aqara app to control them. but not xiaomi mijia devices.
if you use Xiaomi mi home app,It can work with some Xiaomi devices using the Mi Home app.you can use mi home app to control Aqara devices and xiaomi mijia devices at the same time.
